Career Opportunity: Communications DirectorThe National Conference on
Citizenship (NCoC) is seeking a Communications Director to oversee the
management and execution of NCoCs external communications programs. We are
especially interested in a strategic, results-focused professional who will
actively leverage our assets to achieve brand distinction for NCoC and its
programs. The Director should have: at least five years of professional
communications experience and established media relationships; compelling
writing, editing and verbal skills; experience managing a dynamic website and
creating graphic designs; and effectively channeling strategy and tactics
through social media. The Director will report to the Executive Director and
supervise the communications-related work of other NCoC colleagues. NCoC is a
congressionally chartered organization with a proud history of convening the
civic engagement field and of advancing civic strategies through research,
measurement, and facilitation. Our goal is to increase the awareness and
effectiveness of our programs through greater earned media coverage of NCoCs

emails. Position Responsibilities include: Establish and maintain strong
relationships with a broad sweep of local and national news media organizations
and journalists Effectively project NCoC programs, initiatives, and expertise
through news media Serve as a spokesperson, as needed, across all media
platforms Conceive and write NCoC materials, articles, op-eds, etc. Coordinate
brand promotion and protection Manage marketing effort Edit all materials to
be published externally Supervise communications-related assignments among
other NCoC staff, including in-house created graphic design, reports, and
website updates Analyze and report performance of communications programs
Develop and track communications budget Recruit and manage
communications-related vendors and consultants
