FLO-CERT GmbH currently has the following consultant vacancy to deliver services
for the FLO-CERT operations department.
TITLE
Consultant (m/f) for
Business Development & Account Management U.S.
FUNCTION
FLO-CERT is looking for a business oriented person who is willing to establish
FLO-CERT presence in the American market by managing accounts, coordinating the
Fairtrade certification of companies in the North American market and following
sales leads of FLO-CERT services. The ability to deal with high profile traders
and the availability to travel is required. Experience in customer service,
ability to work independently, a pro-active work attitude and team work spirit
are essential assets on this position.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
â Account management and business development.
â Act as responsible for Fairtrade Certification of customers in the
U.S.A.
â Promote FLO-CERT services to potential and existing customers in the
U.S.A.
TASKS
â Establish FLO-CERT presence in the U.S.A.
â Provide high quality customer service to business in the food industry.

â Perform evaluations of audit reports against Fairtrade Trade Standards.

â Actively participate in the annual audit planning.
â Identify special needs of key accounts and act as account manager for a
diverse
customer base.
â Closely work together with FLO-CERT operations team in Bonn, Germany.
â Collaborate with stakeholders within the Fairtrade system.
â Assist in constant improvement of certification processes and FLO-CERT
services.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Necessary:
â University level education (B.A. or equivalent) in a relevant subject
(Food Science, Business, Agronomy, Economics, Environmental Science etc.).
â At least two years of related professional work experience in an office
and customer orientated environment.
â 1 year experience in certification systems (e.g. organic, FSC, MSC,
SA8000, ISO 14001, etc) or 2 years related business experience.
â Fluent in English oral and written.
â Flexible, independent, and pro-active work style.
â Team player with excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
â Excellent communication skills and experience in dealing with different
cultures.
â Strong dedication towards customer service.
â Motivation for Fairtrade.
â Strong interest in the sustainability sector.
Advantageous
â Experience with Customer Relationship Management Tools.
â Business experience in corporate social responsibility or environmental
sustainability.
â Business experience in international trade.
â Business experience in the food industry.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
â Contract: Consultant
â 10 work days per month, 9 months period.
â Working place preferably in Washington D.C. or East Coast, U.S.A.
â The working language is English.
â Geographical scope: customers are located in the U.S.A., reporting to
manager based
in the FLO-CERT headquarter, Germany.
â Payment: according to consultant fee agreement.
â Start date: April 2013 or as soon as possible.
â Valid work permit for the U.S.A. is required.
