About the role
Working as part of the Mid Cornwall Ranger Team, you will play a key
role in enhancing visitor enjoyment, whilst maintaining excellent
standards of presentation, maintenance and conservation across this
stunning piece of Cornwalls coast. Today, we want more and more people
to explore and enjoy this magnificent area. And we want to find exciting
new ways to get people of all ages and backgrounds involved with the
conservation work were doing here. Its a thrilling professional
challenge and one youll take up with gusto and enthusiasm.
Youll make sure that, at every twist and turn of this fantastic
coastline, were delivering outstanding outdoor experiences and
excellent conservation work. So whether youre undertaking practical
countryside management tasks, supervising volunteers and contractors, or
delivering a wide range of engaging visitor experiences, no two days
will be the same. Acting as an ambassador for the Trust, youll share
and promote the work that we do, ensuring special places like the
Cornish coast are here to be both protected and enjoyed by people from
near and far for generations to come. This will see you responding to
queries and explaining the value of the work being undertaken. After
all, your passion and dedication could fire the imagination that makes a
visitor become a supporter of the National Trust for the rest of their
life.
In the role youll be required to work regular weekends and Bank
Holidays.
About you Whatever the weather, you love being
outdoors. Youll already have a qualification and practical skills in
Countryside Management or another relevant subject, along with strong
skills in the use of machinery and equipment. Youll love the great
outdoors as much as we do and have a passion for promoting a high
quality visitor experience. Alongside strong communication and
engagement skills you will also need knowledge of health and safety and
appropriate certificates for chainsaw and brushcutter use, along with
trailer towing. If you have experience with stock handling and off-road
driving, thats even better. Youll also need to be comfortable leading
small groups of volunteers and small scale events. Enthusiastic and
knowledgeable, organised and self motivated, youll always be ready to
share your experiences with visitors. A full, UK driving licence will
also be required for this role.
